Back to school
Going back to school or starting school for the first time is a very exciting time for our little ones. They will be making new friends or catching up with the ones they have missed over the holidays. But, for us parents we may find it hard to accept our little one has grown up and are now "big boys and girls" but enjoy the hugs and wipe away the tears as you always do because even if your little one is nervous or anxious they will soon find that school is the happiest time of their lives, and it gives us parents a much deserved break to get all our chores, shopping and socialising squeezed into our day.
As the holidays draw to a close we have to start thinking about back to school, days at the beach and picnics in the park will now be reserved for the weekend and getting back into the school routine will now become priority.
Getting back into the school routine is difficult not only for the little ones but for us parents too, those of us who are lucky enough to be off for the summer and enjoy the laid back approach to the holidays will find it hard to give up. In my house every year the last week of the holidays has always been a time to try to get back into a routine, early nights and early morning are the way to go this week to try to ease your way back to the school routine. With the days spent looking for the back to school essentials, the school bag, shoes and new uniforms. Not forgetting the all important social status making lunch bags and stationary sets. It is a very expensive time and can be stressful, but try to keep calm and enjoy the time that is left of the holidays.
How do you prepare for back to school?
