World Environment Day

Yesterday was World Environment Day (WED), the climax of all the yearlong events that take place to protect the environment. This annual event is the most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action, with people all over the world taking part in activities to help make a difference to their communities and the environments that they live in.

WED allows the UN to personalize the environmental issues to help call politicians attention and action to make changes to their laws and put in place systems to encourage a more environmentally friendly workplace and community. By personalizing these issues it also helps to highlight the wrong doing of individuals and the power that each of us possess to change the fate of our ever worsening environment.

WED is also a day for people from all walks of life to come together to ensure cleaner, greener and brighter days to come for themselves and future generations.

Baba Me are an extremely environmentally conscious company with the environment being a key part to its ethos. Selling in the majority environmentally friendly products is just one of the ways that we act upon this. This year we have encouraged hundreds of households to turn to cloth nappies which has a dramatic effect on landfills, we have also increased our use of recycled paper wherever possible including in the printing of our catalogues and as a team have tried to help promote the use of organic products to all our customers.
