Activities with Babies

Baby development classes are becoming ever more popular with classes to suit every parenting style. This can be hugely beneficial to both yourself and your little bundle of joy as they offer a chance to socialise and meet likeminded parents, as well as introducing your baby to new friends and experiences. These classes can be anything from swimming, baby yoga, baby signing and massage to sensory classes. Each of these offers a different experience and a unique way to spend some quality time with your baby.
But, not all activities that you do with your baby needs to be an expense. A walk in the park or playing on the swings is just as exciting for your little one and they will love all the fresh air and freedom!
As they get older encouraging them to play with stacking toys and musical instruments is a fantastic way to develop their motor skills and cognitive ability. There is an abundance of toys available that help to develop your children’s imaginations, and believe it or not it’s the simplest ones that are best. Try sitting your baby on the floor with a few wooden blocks and watch them play. Soon they will have built a magical city in their heads where anything is possible.
Introducing your baby to new things on a regular basis will help to improve their development and confidence.
Music is another great way to spend quality time with your child, have fun and teach them about language, creativity, rhythm and tone all at once.
Research has shown that music played to your child while still in the womb has a beneficial effect on their brain and helps to lay the foundation for later learning. Music can help soothe your baby to sleep, encourage a good bedtime routine, relax a nervous baby at bath time, or keep a child amused in the car. Teaching your child nursery rhymes with actions helps to improve motor skills, learn balance, co-ordination and body awareness.
If you play an instrument, why not learn a few nursery rhymes to play and sing along with your little one. This is a great way for the whole family to spend time together.
All babies love to get lots of attention and the more fun they have with you the more you will develop your special bond. Have the camera ready though because with every new word and movement there will be so many great memories to capture.
