Share the love

Spreading our love for real nappies amongst family and friends is so much fun and helps to get more people involved with cloth. The best possible way for anyone to get excited about something new is to see it for themselves. When people are hearing the benefits and seeing how cloth nappies work in practice from a person they trust they can very quickly become convinced that it is the way to go, just take for example all the resistant other halves that soon become cloth champions!
There are more incentives out there than you realise. Many councils offer incentive schemes where they either provide you with trial packs of different cloth nappies or a grant to help pay for your stash. Check with your council to see if you are entitled to their help.
Nappacinos are a fantastic fun way of learning about cloth. Nappucinos are held by many cities on a regular basis and it is an opportunity for you to try out a nappy, get a feel for it, learn how to use it and have fun with other parents who are interested in cloth. It is also a brilliant way to gain a cloth support network where parents with similar interests can help you along your cloth journey with any concerns you may have.Nappy agents, many cloth nappy suppliers have a agents who offer help and support for those in their community, the agents can hold nappy parties in your own home for you and your friends to sample the latest in cloth nappies, they are always on hand for any questions you may have and can be a great help for anyone that is new to real nappies.
Trial packs, a lot of retailers offer trial packs or day packs of certain nappies for you to try before you buy a full stash. This can be invaluable to anyone unsure about which nappy to choose.
Talk to your anti-natal group. This group will have a bounty of information about real nappies and any other concern you may have about becoming a new parent.
You midwife and your GP can also be a great help.
Online! This may in fact be most people first point of contact when it comes to checking out anything these days as there is so much information available it is unbelievable. There are forums specifically for cloth nappies and many, many blogs dedicated to the subject where you can find out honest and unbiased information about all the nappies available.
When you do fall in love with cloth don't forget to spread the word as I have already mentioned it is the perfect way to share how you feel with others and when you are finished with your cloth nappies that definitely does not mean that your nappies have reached the end of their use. Try passing on your stash. You will be helping someone out tremendously and you will save the environment just that little bit more.
We would love to hear how you heard, got involved and fell in love with real nappies!

Then I joined the Babycentre Cloth Nappy board and the rest is history! So many pretty nappies. Have tried a few different types now and am very glad I did. Not only will I save money in the long run (as long as I don't go too mad with buying!) - I should also recoup some of it when my son is toilet trained!
I make sure I tell everyone what he's wearing and try to convert them. My OH is still hesitant but bumGenius and Tots Bots Easyfits are working for him and his mum, who looks after our son occasionally since they're like disposables with velcro. I prefer poppers, which he can't undo!
Best thing I ever did was buy that Smart Nappy, though it hasn't been used for a long time lol
