Tips of the week

I have found that when I speak to the mums that enter our Baba Me shop that they can be a haven of information. I have spoken to a few mums during the week and have asked them what issues they are having and how they are dealing with them. They have come up with some very helpful tips, and I thought I would share them with our fabulous followers. There is so many that every Monday I will post a blog dedicated to these wonderful findings.

This week the main issue raised by the Baba Me customers was bath time. They have said that it can be a dreaded chore with a wriggling, wet and slippery baby but have found that preparation, safety precautions and a few trusty toys, books and music and it was turned from a chore to a joy.

1. Warm up the bathroom so that its nice and cosy.
2. Check the water temperature and stir it to even out the temperature. A thermometer can be great! Check out our fun duck thermometer.
3. Safety First! Ensure that you have everything you
need within reach so you never have to leave your child. A colourful bath mat is must. Never ever leave children or babies unattended - not even for a split second.
4. Bath toys! Choose bath toys that can easily be cleaned and preferably from natural material. When the bath is over, put the toys away in a plastic pail like our OXO tot whale pail or net to keep the bathroom tidy and easy to clean.
5. Start teaching your children to undress themselves. Independence i
s learnt one step at a time. This can be great bath time game.
6. It’s never too early to teach children to pop dirty clothes in the laundry baske
t (keep those handy), the old basketball hoop trick works every time! 7. Bubbles! Lots of bubbles! Organic baby bubble bath keeps babies skin soft and helps amuse them! 8. Make it a game to wet your child’s hair. A gentle organic baby shampoo won’t sting his eyes. You can use an empty organic baby shampoo bottle to rinse his hair. 9. Dry baby quickly so he doesn’t get cold. For babies, our mums love the cuddledry baby bath towel as you can wrap them up quickly. For toddlers, the cuddlemoo toddler towel, bath robes and ponchos are ideal.
10. Have fun!

I hope these tips and tricks that our real parenting mums have come up with will help you and ofcourse will make bath time so much fun your little one that they won’t want to get out. If you have any tips or tricks fopr playing, let us know!
