Storytelling...

Once upon a time... the four little words that springs excitement every time. Storytelling is a beautiful way to communicate with everybody across all age groups.

When a story is told in a captivating way it can evoke emotions and cut even the strongest language barriers.
Storytelling with children can be amazing as you watch their reaction. You can tell a story of love, adventure or magic and capture their imaginations with every word. Encouraging interaction and improvising stories to suit what your child is saying and how they are responding to the story is magical, you just never know what the next twist might be!

Exciting characters, different voices, accents and funny faces all help to make the story come to life.
When I read to my daughter she loves to hear the funny little gremlin as I twist my body and screw up my face and of course getting to play the beautiful princess is her most favourite part of all.

Storytelling is not just for bedtime it can be the most fun and interactive game of all. Together you can watch as your child develops their emotional literacy as they empathise with the characters, their language skills as they help plot the story and their communication skills not only through words but also their movements.

In our house we love to make up our own stories which take a different turn every day, but still you cannot beat the classic story books and tales that have been told generation to generation. Cinderella, the boy who cried Wolfe and Jack and bean stalk and many, many more are cherished tales that will live forever.
