Bumps, bruises and hospital visits!

But their new interest can terrify us parents as we imagine bumps, bruises and hospital visits at every turn. Falling down the stairs, getting electrocuted by sticking their tiny little fingers in the sockets and falling against every sharp edge that never seemed to be so sharp until your little one’s life was at risk is now a growing concern that must be eliminated! Ok, yes, it is true we as parents make life harder on ourselves by imagining the worst possible outcome of every situation, but a few measures can help tame our paranoia.
Sponge the corners, plug the sockets and have a gate on the top and bottom of the stairs. Even try having a few dream tubes up at either side of the bed to stop them falling out. A few quick and simple measures will help you feel more comfortable that your beloved little one can explore in safety.
We do not want to stunt their growth and imagination by stopping them from discovering their surroundings, and the best way to do this is to watch them as they do. But no-one has eyes on the back of their head (even if my mother thinks that she has) so every little step that we can take to safe proof our houses is a step worth taking.
The house however, isn’t the only place that we need to keep a close eye on them. As they are no longer restrained to their buggies, stopping them from wondering off can become an ever more tiring feat. Shopping, the once loved past-time is now a dreaded chore and a walk in the park gets ever more dangerous but the Sure-Steps Security Harness & Wrist Strap can now become the travelling essential to keep them safe.
Remember though that there is no-way that any parent can stop our children from ever being hurt and a few bumps can help to teach them the dangers of the world, we can’t wrap them in cotton wool but we can help a little. If you have any suggestions that I have not mentioned please let us know.
